What do you do when you have a freshly painted room, a cute midcentury modern bed frame, and an itch to design? You play! Wait… that combination isn’t exactly normal, is it… oh well, I had fun! It was really interesting slipping into different personalities to design these three “rooms” — now enough of the boring stuff, let’s get to the pictures!
Room One: Granny Chic
This girl’s an old soul with the freedom of a bird. A little bohemian, a lover of vintage, you can find her reading under the trees in her free time.
I wish I could tell you where everything is from, but the three things that aren’t thrifted (the macrame pillow, the comforter, and the throw at the end of the bed) are all from TJmaxx, whoops!
I love how the colors work together here – this is technically a complimentary color scheme since you’ve got green & red going on, but it’s done in a sophisticated way since it’s deep greens, pale pink, and burgundy.
Also, the juxtaposition of more formal elements like the velvet pillow cases & the vintage needlepoint stool with the more casual cool vibes of the macrame & using the stool as a bedside table are what dreams are made of, ya’ll.
Room Two: Retro Science
Pilot, adventure seeker, wants a job at NASA.
Swap an essential oil diffuser for the candle & it could be your kid’s room.
And everything else is thrifted!
Room Three: Sophisticated Getaway
The dreamiest vacation spot, even if it’s in your own home.
All you need is a good book, some plants, and some good smells! I’m really into that marble ash tray for incense or palo santo!
Alright, that’s all for today – I’ll be back with more bathroom details & the nitty gritty of this room redo soon!
